Dan Svizeny has released several albums under his more abstract Cough Cool moniker over the years, it's his solo recordings that hold his most frank, honest, and blunt lyricism and storytelling. On Every Weekend, his second solo outing, Svizeny has complied a collection of songs that is possibly his more assured and heartfelt of his entire career. Written and recorded "in a small New Jersey town after a break-up with the city of Philadelphia," the songs are "about living for people you love, sacrifice, and finding beauty in difficult situations." At times both bleak and apathetic, the album ultimately unfolds and blossoms to show the simple pleasures and hopefulness found in those around us. Beneath hazy layers of guitars and washes of reverb, Svizeny has delivered yet another stunning set of timeless pop gems. Forged Artifacts is honored to release this collection digitally and on limited chrome tapes.

Singer-songwriter Dan Svizeny (formerly Cough Cool) grew up among the artifice and it rubbed off on him in a bad way because he’s pivoted to make sure he became anything but — his new album Every Weekendis heartbreakingly honest, his most personal collection of songs yet. Recorded “all alone, in an empty house, in a quiet town” after moving to New Jersey following a few years in Philadelphia, Svizeny channels his ennui into chilly but hopeful reverb-drenched tracks. - James Rettig, Stereogum
