BIG AIR
Halfway through Big Air’s song “Vibe Patrol,” the snotty lo-fi blurt-punk onslaught stops for a second so that a florid, lovely acoustic guitar line can come in out of nowhere, and it sticks around for the rest of the song. Big Air is Rob Dobson, formerly of the Charlottesville indie rock band the Fire Tapes. I saw him open for bands like Speedy Ortiz here in Charlottesville, but he’s apparently relocated to Los Angeles, and his debut album Don’t Care comes out next week. If “Vibe Patrol” is any indication, this should be a fun and unpredictable punk rock record. - Stereogum

"A brilliantly breezy introduction, the track builds itself upon a bedrock of gleaming guitars, pretty little dashes here, choppy riffs there, allowing Dobson’s gravelly drawl to take the reigns, leading the track towards its bolder, more powerful peaks that offer a glimpse in to the projects hardier moments, drifting towards a crunchier, emo-leaning posture that adds an extra level of bite and intrigue to the whole thing." - GoldFlakePaint

Big Air began in 2013 in the rural hills of Virginia where lead songwriter Rob Dobson crafted his own brand of upbeat, riff-heavy fuzz pop. Following the release of their debut, Dobson relocated to Los Angeles and began work on material that would become Big Air's first full-length. Recorded to tape in his bungalow in Echo Park, Don't Care builds on the kinetic energy of Buds, while adding denser arrangements, headier atmosphere, and a broader palette of tones. We are very excited to release Don't Care digitally and on limited edition chrome tapes.
