On their self-titled debut album, Minneapolis trio Some Pulp pull inspiration from both Motown soul and eccentric glam rock into a collection of songs which serves as both an introduction and definitive statement. Hardly ones to shy away from heart-on-sleeve romanticism, Some Pulp realize the power in raw, unabashed emotions. As Graham Barton's lovelorn wails and Dane Hoppe and Elliott Snyder's urgent rhythms can attest, the trio continually harnesses and bottles their sound into sharp, bombastic nuggets of garage rock gold with a sense of urgency and restraint. The songs serve as an earnest reminder of how essential direct rock and roll can and should always be. Forged Artifacts is excited to unleash the album digitally and on limited pro dubbed cassette tapes.  (photo: Cori Miller)
