A few words from LIFER:

"I moved to New York a few years ago and quickly started to feel like I might have missed the best period to be here.  The first songs I recorded on From Kuru were about the fear that my new lifestyle was draining whatever it was that made me want to write music in the first place.  Those songs were also about the self-sabotage of using whatever people, chemicals etc I could find to try to keep that feeling from completely fading. Eventually, though, I started to embrace the obstacles here and found a lot of beauty and inspiration in the stubbornness of sticking around.  That became the general motivation behind the entire project.  

I think New York is for masochists, and every time I leave all I can think about is when I'm going to get back."
